Yes, May was a few months back, but here are a few things from that month.

A friend of my sister wanted to get her neighbors a gift for their sweet baby girl....got that?!? Haha, anyway, Racheal decided to go for a bow holder & I coordinated it with the baby's lady bug bedding.

These frames were gifts to Emory's grandmothers for Mother's Day. Brittany told me a little bit about the decor in their homes & then I just went from there. I love the 2 different greens...Green is my "it" color right now. Who know's if it's actually in, but I'm loving it.

And here we have another owl frame for a birthday party. Soooooo popular for little girls.

Another friend, ordered a step stool for her nephew for his first birthday. I hope Camden is enjoying it!!

What else happened in May? My little brother, Brad, graduated from Louisiana Tech! We are very happy to add another Tech alumni to the family :)

We had a little get together at our house after graduation. Here's David Scott & our close friend, Alicia, hanging out on the patio while the boys grill.

Then came picture time! Here's the grad with Mom.

Sibling picture. Me, Brad & Sarah. Please excuse the way we/I look. It was a loooong day & the humidity was out of control, which meant my hair was out of control. Not sure why I was the only one blessed with the frizzy hair genes... Also, please note, Mom took this picture. I looked at this on my camera after she took it & her excuse was that she didn't have her reading glasses on...funny how that affects picture taking.

The whole fam. This picture cracks me up. Dusty is just along for the ride. I look like I really need to pee. David is questioning why he chose to be in this family. Brad is ready to be done with the picture taking. Mom is loving life. Sarah is just happy to be there. Scotty is also questioning his decision to be a part of this madness. And sweet little David Scott is wondering why all those people behind the camera are acting like idiots...which obviously didn't have any affect on him as he is not smiling.

Overall, it was a good celebration & we had fun visiting with friends & family.

On another note, I wanted to go ahead & let everyone know that I am not taking any orders that are due between now & the end of the year. So sorry!! Christmas is a huge season for my business but I knew trying to do all of that & have a newborn would stress me out. I should be back at it after the first of the year, though.

I do have a few holiday items in inventory that I've painted in the past & have thought about having a blog sale for some of those things...I'll keep you posted on that!

No artsy pics today, just a bunch of pictures from my phone.

About a month or so ago, Sarah had to come to Ruston to meet with a client. I so graciously agreed to babysit my sweet nephew, David Scott. We went to the pool for a short while & he really enjoyed it...especially when Joanna shared Georgia's snacks with him & he proceeded to steal them all.

The pregnant one in the family (that's me) has thoroughly enjoyed the local fresh fruits & veggies this summer. Dusty has a nice "garden" of tomatoes & squash & they have been delicious. I've hit up the farmer's market & side of the road stands many times & always manage to bring home a watermelon. After we cut it up & put the bowl in the refrigerator, we let Deuce eat the rest. He LOVES watermelon (just like his mama & gran) & will eat every bit of red until he gets to the rind. He ate all three pieces in this pic :)

I've been trying very hard not to go overboard buying clothes for the baby, but every now & then, I see something I can't turn away from. For those who don't know us personally, Dusty is a huge fan of the outdoors. He's obsessed with hunting, loves to fish, etc...basically fits right in with the "sportsman's paradise" that is Louisiana. A few weeks ago, Smocked Auctions popped up on my Facebook page with this little beauty & I had to get it. I knew my baby daddy would be so excited! I couldn't wait for it to come in & as soon as it did, I snapped a pic to send to him. Baby boy will look so cute in it during next year's deer hunting season.

A few weekends ago, we had to go to Baton Rouge for an engagement party for a close friend. We stayed with Sarah, Scotty & David Scott. David Scott really enjoys looking at the pictures of Deuce & Suzy on my phone but gets really tired of the paparazzi taking his picture. He's just so cute.

And here's Deuce & Suzy one evening last week after we had been playing. I bet they feel so neglected. It's just so hot here, even late evening, that we rarely go outside to play with them. They play all the time, but I know they love for us to come out there & have a little fun too.

I'm such a geek. All this back to school hype got me a little depressed that I have no need for school supplies anymore. I always loved this time of year & getting more organized. I saw a great deal online & decided to take advantage of it & get this Erin Condren Life Planner. I am in love! Being a super organized (borderline OCD) person, this makes me so happy. When personalizing it, I decided not to put any first names on there since Baby Boy doesn't have one yet & I went with a design that wasn't too girly. She's got some great products so check out the site.

Once again, I was not compensated for mentioning Erin Condren..If only :)

I almost forgot to mention that I got our family blog set up & Dusty decided he wanted dibs on the first post. He's a good writer & always funny so I really want him to write more. He says he will only do it if we have at least 50 followers. Help me out here! You can get to it by clicking here.

26 weeks & more pictures!

Most of the pictures here are from orders I finished in the spring, but I am slowly catching up to blogging about present orders. Anyhoo...

Baby Ryland has a farm animal themed nursery (I accidentally deleted the pic from my phone :/) & a friend of his mothers wanted to give him a little something special. So here we are...his own name canvas to coordinate with his nursery. I love the western font!

A friend of ours has had a lot of other friends getting hitched this year. He didn't want to get them "girly" gifts, as he says, & wanted something unique. We talked for a while & decided on this. He liked it so much that he has now placed orders for 4 more! It really does make a great wedding gift!

A sweet blogger contacted me about painting a frame to house a photo from her first marathon. (Whether first or fifteenth, you're way ahead of me. I can't even run a mile...pregnant or not!) This Bible verse was her "motto" through the entire process. I think it's very fitting for any runner, but especially first time marathon runners.

Baby Hayden has a very simple nursery & his mama requested a canvas using his colors, lime green & royal blue. We kept with the simple theme for the canvas, especially since it was so big.

Ellyson's crib bedding has a fun, flowery pattern for the bumper & a striped skirt that coordinates. There's lots of color in the fabric so I had an easy time with this bow holder

What else has been going on around here? Well, I'm putting on a few lbs, but it's for a good cause!

25 weeks...Looking large & in charge. I've discovered that straight on doesn't make for a flattering picture! And yes, this picture is fuzzy, your vision isn't deceiving you (Mom). I'm getting a "fancy" camera for my birthday (which was 2 months ago, lol), but we haven't decided which one we want to go with. I want one that takes pictures a lot faster than my coolpix since we will soon have a little one that I'm sure won't sit still for me to take some good shots. Do you have a good camera to recommend?? If so, please let me know!

26 weeks (actually 26 1/2 weeks) We took this pic last night as we were heading out the door to go to The Happening, which is a fun event Louisiana Tech has each year.

The university president gives a "state of the university" speech, head football coach Sonny Dykes speaks briefly about the upcoming season & the highlight of the evening is the special guest. Last year, it was Tech alum, Terry Bradshaw & he was hilarious.

This year, the guest speaker was another popular Tech alum, Kix Brooks, of the country duo, Brooks & Dunn. He had some good stories & jokes, but the most awesome part of his time on stage was when he sat on the stool, grabbed his acoustic guitar & sang two of his songs, Red Dirt Road & Only In America. It was great! Totally unexpected & made being up past my bedtime sooooo worth it!

Kix & I are from the same parish (that would be county for those outside of Louisiana), graduated from the same university & Dusty can sing exactly like Ronnie Dunn so we have this weird connection & I feel like we need to meet one day. I thought last night would be it, but Dusty wouldn't let my inner stalker come out so he rushed me to the car when "the show" was over. Oh well, I'm sure there will be another chance. We did have a great time though!

Summer is going by too fast!

So, we've had a great & busy summer so far and I can't believe that it's half over. School supplies are out at all the stores & our teacher friends are talking about getting their classrooms ready. The weeks pass by too fast & the weekends are always full, but we've enjoyed it!

Yep! That would be our sweet baby BOY that's due November 18 (which is nephew David Scott's second birthday)! We are so excited about this little addition & continue to pray that the remainder of my pregnancy goes as smoothly as it has so far.

I have full intentions of starting a blog for our growing family, which will probably be private, but I will add some baby updates here occasionally.

I don't know who told me "you'll have soooo much energy during your second trimester" but they lied! It's just after 9 p.m. & I can't keep my eyes open. As soon as I'm done typing this sentence, I'm off to bed!

Samantha is a sweet friend who had baby Ava in February. Ava's nursery is so cute & I had fun painting a few things for it. At the time, Javis Davis created custom baby & kid bedding, but they are no longer doing that. :( This is what their website says:

She is busy creating accessories, doll clothes, and craft projects that little girls are going to love. The website should be up and running in May. Mermaids, party favors & more owls

Taylor had a mermaid themed 6th birthday party & her mom wanted a canvas to help celebrate the day. She e-mailed me a picture of the mermaid shirt Taylor would be wearing & the colors of the party. She told me that Taylor was excited about the birthday canvas, especially since the mermaid looked like her!

This has proven to be a very popular bedding. I think I could paint this with my eyes closed...but I won't! Coordinates with Delilah bedding from Cocalo Couture.

Shame on me for going soooo long in between posts! I promise I have a good excuse but for now, I'll do my last Christmas post. Yes, it's May & I'm still writing about Christmas, but who cares! If it isn't obvious, I'm way behind on posting so expect to see a lot of new posts coming soon!

This bow holder was given to sweet Anniston from her Aunt Meg. I highly recommend Lindsey's blog, if you don't read it already. They have been through a lot in the last couple of years & Lindsey is an inspiration. She is so sweet & loves the Lord & it shows in her writing. Check it out!

Jessie already had this rocking chair for Olivia, but wanted to jazz it up a little. So it went from plain white to this! I love pink & green together :)

Oh, I had so much fun with this! At Cedartown, I was approached by Anna who said she wanted me to paint something for her on glass. I told her I had never done it before, but I never turn down a challenge. She gave me an idea of what she wanted & the colors of her room & this is the finished product. I love it! It's dainty & fun at the same time & the colors are so pretty together!

This was a special Christmas order. This table & chair set was given to sweet David Scott from his Boo & Uncle Dusty. I've gone from "Auntie Boo" to just "Boo" because it's easier (& more fun) for him to say. I'm totally fine with that...he can call me whatever he wants! I found this set at Kool Kids last March for $15 (crazy!). It was plain wood & had lots of crayon marks & stains, but I bought it anyway knowing I would paint something on it for him. Sarah, my sister, told me what she wanted & here it is! We decided to keep it simple so that it can be used when she has other kids, too.

I think he likes it :)

Thinking I was done?? Oh no...I was very busy this Christmas! I am so grateful for all the business I had at Christmas & since then. Keep those orders coming!!

Lindsi in Oklahoma ordered a canvas for her parents who had just redone their living room. She sent me the fabric swatches & I painted this to coordinate with their new furniture.

Tucker & Allyson got new bedding for their rooms in their new home so they needed some new artwork, too! Tucker chose the digital camo bedding.

Allyson picked the floral burst bedding, but we went with dots on the canvas so it wouldn't be too busy. Their bedding came from Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart.com won't let you copy pictures so if you want to see pics, just go to their site. Side note - I was really impressed with some of the bedding I saw on Wal-Mart.com....lots of cute stuff!

Mrs. Kavanaugh is a teacher at Cedar Creek School (colors are green & gold) here in Ruston. I tried out something new on her sign....chalkboard paint! The black paint underneath her name is chalkboard paint so she can write notes on it. She was pretty excited!

Things around here are still busy, which I love. I have lots of orders that I've completed recently & a lot that I'm currently working on. I think I'll only have one more Christmas post & then I'll be talking about more recent stuff!

I think everyone will agree with me, but I am loving the weather around here lately. It has been so beautiful & I'm glad Spring will officially be here on Sunday. It's a welcome change!

I got a new logo! I love it! It's fresh, fun & just what I needed. A HUGE thanks to Matt Lange for designing the new logo for me. If you need any graphic design, web design or photography work done, Matt is the guy to call. He has great vision & is so wonderful to work with. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Matt & he is now my go to guy.

Well, Christmas came & went so quickly! I absolutely love the holiday season & wish it didn't fly by so fast. Our Christmas was wonderful. We were able to spread some great news with our families...we were going to have a baby. Everyone was thrilled, as were we. Then, just last week, on January 6, I went to my doctor to have an ultrasound because the night before, I knew that something wasn't right. The worst had happened...there was no heartbeat. I had a miscarriage. It was devastating news. Unfortunately, it happens to more couples than you ever realize. Even when we want to ask why, we remember that everything happens for a reason & we have to keep our faith. I believe that God will bless us with healthy babies in the future, but we will always remember the angel that's now watching over us every day.

On a lighter note, I had a ton of orders this year & am so very appreciative of them all! Here are just a few of the orders that I had:

Nita & I work together at Acres & Avenues Realty (just a little plug :)) & she decided to order bow holders for some sweet girls in her life. This is 4 of the 7 that she ordered.

Lori is married to one of Dusty's cousins (I thing they're actually 3rd cousins but because this family tree is huge, I just refer to them all as regular cousins. It saves time). Anyway, Lori decided to redeem a Peek-A-Bootique gift certificate she received. You can't tell from the photo, but the red border is actually a rusty red/copper & the pattern in the middle is a pale blue.

This is what Lori ordered for her mother-in-law, who is a teacher. I love how fun the colors turned out on this canvas.

A close friend ordered this for her daughter, Georgia, to match her bathroom decor. She's 2 & I'm pretty sure she has more hair than I do. The bows on the holder are ones that she wore as a newborn...seriously!

Heather, another friend, had Rhett on November 18. She used the Madras bedding from PB kids. Since I had letters to paint to go with it, she wanted a Bible verse on the large canvas (24"x36"). The canvas looks so good against Rhett's green walls.

Fun Teacher Canvases!

Taylor's mom was ordering a canvas for new baby, Aspen, & decided that she didn't need to be left out! Taylor wants to be a rock star & needed decor to coordinate with her dreams. I'm told that Taylor is in love with her canvas, especially the glitter stars!

Aspen has the Harlow bedding in her nursery & her mom wanted the same design that I've done for previous clients. I love it & am pretty sure I could paint this blindfolded!

Speaking of things I love....This little guy turned 1 on November 18. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by & he's not even my child! He had a pretty great first birthday party surrounded by friends & family.

His cake was delicious & oh so cute! I decided to help out the sis by jazzing up some of those wooden figures you get at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. I saw the idea while browsing Etsy & thought it would go with his party theme. It's amazing what you can find on Etsy!

I let David Scott be my guinea pig for a new item. Personalized party favor carriers! These are flexible plastic totes that are personalized with the theme &/or names of guests. Sarah already had the goodies so we just stuck them inside the totes, which can later be used as a holder for pencils, markers, crayons or whatever your little heart desires. If you want more information on these totes, please let me know! They come in a variety of sizes & colors!

And here's the Rainwater Tribe!

This summer, we stayed with some friends in Dallas when we went to the Rangers game. We are all big Rangers fans so as a "Thank you," I painted this door hanger for them. Even though the Rangers didn't win the World Series, we're not letting that get us down. As a side note, sooooo glad that week of our lives is long gone...it was a rough week in this house, specifically for the hubs!

Sweet Sylvia turned 2 recently & had an owl themed birthday party & to go along with that theme, her mom ordered this owl frame. Hope the birthday party was great!

On the same note, Reagan had a birthday party a few weekends ago & this was one of her gifts from her mom. Apparently, she has lots & lots of huge bows & had no place to put them. So, we decided to put a little twist on the traditional bow holder. Meet the Monogram Bow holder! It's a Custom 11x14 Monogram Set with ribbon hanging from it. When Reagan's mom told me to have 2 ribbon from each canvas, each piece measuring 3 1/2 feet long, I knew she wasn't joking about having lots & lots of huge bows! What's great about this order is that when Reagan gets too old for bows, she can simply remove the ribbon or roll it up & tape it to the back of the canvases & then she will just have her monogram.

So I'm going to blame the lack of blogging on the fact that I got a new computer. Some pictures are on the old computer, some on the new computer, yada, yada, yada. Anyway, I figured that since I didn't have any commitments today (thank you, Lord!), I would take the time to update. I won't bore you with lots of talk so here's lots of pictures!

The last few weeks, I've been very busy with sorority gifts as well as working on regular orders & getting ready for CedarTown Market, which I am participating in again this year. If you're in the Ruston area the first weekend in November (the 5th & 6th), head on over to the civic center for some holiday shopping!

Here are the only pictures of the sorority stuff I did. I probably did 10 times this amount! I'm really good at forgetting to take pictures!

Amy is one of my best customers! She loves her Emme Claire & has really decked out her rooms (yes, she has 2!) in hand painted decor. I've done quite a few posts with Emme Claire merchandise in them & I really appreciate the business. Thanks, Amy!

Before school started, Lindsey requested a sign for her door & I somehow forgot to blog about it! She is using Monkey stuff in her room so we went with that for her door sign.

I've still got a lot of stuff to blog about but I'll save that for another post...which will be sometime this week. Now that I've put that out there, I know I'll do it!

For Sweet John Roque...Melissa painted the walls of John's nursery in Atmosphere Blue from Restoration Hardware. Since getting the paint swatches, I have been looking for a room in my house to paint this beautiful shade of blue, ha! Dusty doesn't know it yet, but we may have a blue bathroom soon...I've been wanting to paint it blue for a while & just haven't found the right one...until now! Anyway, back on track, I am in love with John's nursery. It's so classy & fabulous. Melissa, I'm so glad you like this sweet gift from Sarah...I can only imagine the shenanigans David Scott & John will get in to one day!

Stephanie has a very encouraging blog for runners (& those of us that don't run but like to think that we could, ha!)....check it out right here.

We love our vet but especially love the girls that work for him. They are all so helpful & kind which means a lot to someone like me who is constantly bringing in strays. I think they secretly dislike seeing my car pull into their lot, but they are always so nice when I walk in no matter what I'm there for! J'nell, one of Dr. Sexton's employee's, needed a bow holder for Baby Addison's hair bows. She has Puzzle Patch Bedding from Land of Nod, which gave me tons of possibilities for the design. I decided to go with something fairly simple & I think it will compliment the bedding very well. Thanks J'nell!

Erica contacted me about painting a few frames for her daughter's birthday party. She wanted something simple with white, green, & bright pink. She had a photographer at the party & I can't wait to see the pictures of the frames as I know I've mentioned that I am lacking in the picture taking department!

Jhanna is a planner. She e-mailed me like 3-4 months ago about this order for her daughter's birthday party, which is this weekend. Organization...the light of my life. Jhanna was going with the same owl theme that Amy had for Emme Claire's party, but she was using different colors. The orange isn't as bright as it looks in these pictures...refer to the lack of photo skills...

Seth & Vanna are good friends of ours & she decided that Baby Reid needed a little color in his nursery. I used the colors that are in her curtains for the canvases to tie it all in. She was so excited to finally see these when I gave them to her at her shower 2 weeks ago. A couple of days after, I got some pictures of them on the wall. Her nursery is awesome, too!

Not sure why the pictures are so small, but oh well. I am in love with Reid's crib!

La Tech's first home game is this weekend. We're getting excited & hope we can win against Navy. Go Dawgs!!

Yes, I'm still here...just wondering where the last 4 weeks went! I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last post. I have lots to share so I'll just dive right in.....

I have recently discovered that the Delilah bedding from Cocalo Couture is very popular. You may remember this post from a few months ago. The design I did for that canvas got some attention & I got more orders for the exact same one! What's weird is that I got all 3 of these orders in the same week. Two of them e-mailed me within minutes of each other wanting the same thing! I guess great minds do think alike.

Deuce & Suzy "caught" an armadillo. They really thought they had accomplished something! This is one of the MANY that have been tearing up my flower beds. Dusty & a friend hauled it off to a land far, far away & I hope it doesn't find it's way back...we've got enough. By the way, I've never been close to one of these things before & I almost vomited when the stench of it finally hit me....they're so gross!!!

We attended The Happening, which is a LA Tech alumni event.

We had dinner & enjoyed great speakers including LA Tech alum, Terry Bradshaw, who is hilarious!

We decided last minute to take a weekend vacation to Arlington to see the Rangers play. We go to a game each year & didn't have any free weekends earlier in the summer...when it was "cool." We realized this weekend was free of obligations so we got some tickets for Friday & Saturday night & were on our way!

It was a much needed getaway & our seats were fantastic...& in the shade!

It's crazy that it's already time for kids to go back to school. It seems like just yesterday everyone was getting out for the summer & now it's over. Not that I mind the fact that we're getting closer to cooler weather & more importantly, Christmas! It will be here before we know it & speaking of, I want to let all of you know my deadline for Christmas orders is:

Emily is having her first baby within the next 2 weeks & I know she was so excited to get her nursery finished last weekend. When I met with Emily, she gave me a picture of the bedding & some fabric swatches.

Since her initials were being monogrammed on the bedding, Emily wanted a Bible verse on the big canvas. I love this verse for a nursery!

She also wanted a bow holder.

And a white picture frame painted green with pink dots & some distressing.

This is Emily's whole package. She sent me some pictures of the canvas above her crib but Blogger isn't letting me add those...maybe another time...

This was done for Sandy who is expecting Alex soon. She had a shower this past weekend & this was the gift from the hostesses. This is the nursery bedding:

Little Miss Olivia Hamby had her first birthday in May. I didn't have her gift ready until the week after the party (I know, I know...I'm a bad friend), but she has it now. Olivia was the first to get this "new product."

As with all Peek-A-Bootique items, this frame can be customized with the scrapbook paper & flower/decal of your choosing.

Olivia has lots of greens & pinks in her room & Jessie said this will look great in it. Sorry it was late!!

Another first birthday was celebrated this past weekend. Happy Birthday, Barnes! Ainslee contacted me about a canvas for his party & said she wanted "Celebrate Life" on it using green, blue & yellow. This is what I came up with:

I've been struggling with this picture for like 30 minutes & I still can't get it to rotate & it's making me angry....so just rotate your computer to see it correctly!

The Baker's welcomed Riley into this world a couple of weeks ago. This canvas grouping was finished just in time for her shower at the end of May. Yes, I know I'm waaaay behind on my blogging, but I have been super busy lately & it has taken a backseat. I'm trying to get better :)

Anyway, Brittney chose Pottery Barn Spring Bouquet Bedding for Riley's nursery.

We decided to go with a grouping of 4 12x12 inch canvases. I love groupings because if you like to change things around frequently (that would be me), you can always separate them.

Because Riley already had a lot of pink in her room, I tried to use more of the other colors in the bedding.

A friend ordered this painting for a co-worker who was adopting an 11 year-old girl, which I think is awesome. She didn't know anything about Wilma except that her room was going to have black & pink in it, so we decided to go with something fairly simple.

Black & pink is so popular! Stormy, my sister-in-law, ordered this to keep Grace's hair bows organized. You may remember Grace from this post...she's the diva in the family!

2 big orders & a trip down memory lane...

You may remember this post from months ago where I painted a canvas & bow holder to coordinate with the Harlow bedding. Well, Amber in Houston picked out this bedding for her nursery, too. She wanted me to paint a 2'x4' (yes, 2 feet by 4 feet!) canvas to go with it that incorporated pink. Brynlee has one wall in her nursery that is pink (that's where the canvas will be) & the other three are a neutral stripe.

Amber has another daughter that is 5 & certainly didn't want to exclude her so she ordered another 2'x4' canvas for Taylor. Taylor has this Cheetah Girl bedding:

I believe Amber had the baby last week so I hope she & Brynlee (& Bis Sister Taylor) are doing well!

Busy, Busy, Busy

The weather has been so great lately & it seems like everyone is busy. Busy with T-ball, end of school activities, weddings, babies, etc. The wedding thing is what's keeping us the busiest on the weekends. Don't get me wrong, I love going to weddings, but we've had 3 the last 3 weekends & it's not slowing down anytime soon!

This is Jen's wedding in Shreveport weekend before last. They are currently on week 2 of their honeymoon in Italy & I am so jealous. I would loooove to go to Italy (well, Europe in general). Hint, Hint Dusty, our anniversary is coming up soon....

Along with all of that, I've been busy painting, too!

These 3-8x10's were ordered by a sweet lady in Ohio for teacher gifts.

Mrs. Kaufman teaches kindergarten Trisha wanted something fun that the kids can enjoy, too.

For the other 2 teachers, she wanted me to use school colors & paw prints. Trisha, I hope the teachers enjoy them!

Little Miss Mattie Kate has the Daniella bedding from Cocalo & received a picture frame to coordinate with it.

I thought this was so sweet! Katie contacted me about Mother's Day gifts for her Mother & Mother-in-Law. She ordered 2-8x10 picture frames & wanted this saying on it:

I think any mom would be happy to get such a thoughtful gift!

Duece & Suzy have been busy, too....busy doing nothing. Well, I guess trying not to have a heat stroke qualifies as something. Seriously, it's only May & they act like they're going to die after only taking two steps (in the shade of the patio with the fans on full blast) & I hate to tell them, but it will only get hotter. I guess they don't remember back to last summer or the summer before that.

Anyway, I had to give them their Promeris (flea & tick gel) today & it's always difficult to do. Typically one of us "sits" on the dog & the other puts the gel on their back. Well, Dusty was gone & I decided I would just do it myself.

If you've ever seen the Crocodile Hunter (may he rest in peace) jump on the back of a croc he just got to shore, you can get an idea of what I looked like administering the Promeris to Suzy. Would you believe that I wasn't able to take a picture of that?!? Deuce quickly realized that he was next & decided to jump in his pool & then go roll around in the dirt.

I guess he thought that if he was wet &/or dirty he wouldn't have to get the flea & tick gel on his back. Well, Deuce, you didn't get water or dirt on your back so you still got it. I promise I am not a bad parent...these things I do are for your own protection. One day you will thank me.

Amelia has the Sophie Bedding from PB Kids & Amy is using a mobile with poodles on it, which is why we used a poodle in the canvas grouping.

Emme Claire celebrated her first birthday a few weeks ago. You might remember this post where I painted a frame & canvas for her party. Well, her sweet mom found these letters & had me paint them to coordinate with the other items.

I love how they are deep enough to stand alone & may have to add these to my product list!

I've been super busy lately, but that's how I like it!

Little G was so excited to get a bulletin board & step stool from the Easter Bunny. Isn't that thoughtful?!?

I can do many different sizes so e-mail or call if you have questions. This is a 22"x35"

From what I hear, G loves her new step stool! In case you were wondering, these were painted with gender neutral colors, with only the last name so future kids can use them, too.

These two were painted for a Mississippi State Fan (obviously, ha!). She liked my Louisiana Tech canvases & decided she needed them, but for her school. Dusty was a student at Miss State for 6 weeks & then decided grad school wasn't really for him the day before I was supposed to move to there...which was also my sister's wedding day...it was chaotic. I have fun telling the story of that weekend! Maybe I'll share later...

If you've never been, Starkville is a cute little place (very similar to Ruston) & the Miss State campus is incredible. I was really looking forward to living there, but if Dusty was moving home there was no way I was living there alone....even if I did have a fab job lined up! I sometimes wonder how different our lives would be had he stayed...but everything happens for a reason!

How could I not add a picture of this handsome guy?!? Yes, he is wearing the same outfit from the previous post, but hey, Sarah's getting her money's worth!

Pretty much everyone I know that has a blog, blogs about their kids. Well I don't have any human kids yet, but these four-legged "kids" really keep us entertained. By the way, at least once a week, someone tells me that they thought the "Inside Dogs" post was hilarious & I should mention the sweet pups more. Don't really have any great Deuce & Suzy stories right this moment, but here are some pictures. I thought these bushes were really pretty so I decided to take their "portraits" in front of them.

Suzy was up first. One picture & I'm done with her...which is strange because usually she is the one that doesn't want to mind you!

And now it's time for Deuce! This didn't go so well! He is a good listener, but if there is a ball anywhere close & you are preventing him from getting to it, he will be difficult (I was holding his ball hostage for the photo shoot). So here are a few of the pictures I took of him.....

I think I caught him at the end of a bark...which is why there is slobber on the bottom of the lens. And I didn't realize it until after the photo shoot so there is a blurry spit spot on all the pics!

This is when I started dangling a rawhide bone above the camera thinking he would sit still for .0013 seconds.

That didn't work...

Maybe I started to threaten him???

Maybe he understood me & I got a semi-good picture of him????

And then they were gone to devour the deliciousness that is a rawhide bone.

As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder....

So, it's been a while. Shame on me for not posting more often, but when Spring finally arrives, it seems like life gets busier & busier.

This was done for Emme Claire's first birthday party. Her mom bought an owl birthday banner from Etsy & had me use the same owl on this canvas & frame which will later be in her nursery. Her nursery is full of various shades of pink & green & is so cute! I can't wait to see pictures of it when the canvas & frame are added.

One of my best friends (Allison) has many, many best friends & one of them recently had her first baby. Leslie & Cody welcomed Lila this past Friday & because she made her arrival early, I wasn't quite finished with her canvas. I was able to get it to Allison on Easter, which was also the day Lila came home from the hospital. This canvas was painted to coordinate the Delilah bedding from Cocalo Couture.

(If you can't tell from the pic below, the curtains & crib sheets are yellow with white polka-dots.....but as my hubby pointed out, it looks like an Easter egg, which is fitting since she came home on Easter Sunday!)

I'm working on a lot of other things right now so I'll have a lot more to post about in the coming weeks so stay tuned!!

On a personal note, our Easter was great! We were able to see both of our families throughout the weekend, so it was nice not being rushed on Sunday.

We spent Friday with my family. Dusty caught some catfish that were about the same size as the baby. David Scott didn't really know what was going on!

He had a lot of fun while we were perfecting this shot!

After church on Sunday, we went to have lunch with Dusty's family. I think this is the first "Easter picture" we have ever taken!

Dusty's niece & nephew were the only ones to hunt eggs, but they had fun.

Yes, the door to our house was WIDE OPEN almost all day & no, it wasn't a burglar (that looks weird spelled out)...It was Deuce & Suzy. You see, Deuce (the bigger one) has a habit of "checking" every door when we come inside. He will hit it with his paw just once to see if it will open....well, this time it did & I'm sure they were ecstatic.

(I wanted it to be Dusty's fault sooo bad, but unfortunately, it was mine. I thought I shut the door completely.... obviously I didn't! Oh well, I guess I'm allowed one mistake!)

To Deuce & Suzy,

Thank you for only tearing up the toilet paper & bag of trash. You could have very easily chewed on any of our rugs, throw pillows, curtains, bedding and/or furniture. We hate that Dad had to "get on to you" (aka shake a finger at you a few times) for what you thought was a fantastic day experiencing how the other half lives (inside dogs). We're sure you would be ok with that life, but you love being outside doggies with all the smells, sights & sounds that our yard has to offer. We have grounded you for a week, but you will never know the difference as you will keep chasing squirrels, digging holes, burying bones & playing with your red ball.

This is a weird way to start this post, but does anyone else think that time passes by too quickly?!? Seriously, we are half way through the first month of 2010.....2010! I was thinking this weekend, while "playing" with the best nephew ever, that I can't believe that he is 2 months old already. If I am feeling this way with him, how am I going to be when I have kids of my own?!? Before I know it, he will be turning 1 (gasp) & although I am very excited to see him grow, I also have to face the reality that as he gets older, so do I :(. Oh well, in my mind I will always be 21....& hope to always look like I'm 21:)!

Anyway, isn't this the cutest 2 month old you have ever seen?? I think so & I'm not partial at all!

Lately, I have been working on a few things for a friend of my sister. Betsey is pregnant with a baby girl. Stella Grace is due in February & I know her Mom & Dad are so excited. Betsey chose Harlow bedding from CoCaLo Couture & I think it is fab. I had the pleasure of painting a 24x36 canvas to hang above her crib.

And this is the canvas...you can't really get a good idea of how HUGE it is so as soon as she e-mails me a pic of it in Stella Grace's nursery, I will post. By the way, the green matches the bedding perfectly, they just look different in all my pics for some reason!

This detailing is in the bedding, you just can't see it in the pic from the website. I think it adds a nice touch.

Betsey had her shower this past Saturday & as part of her gift, I painted a bow holder...complete with a few bows!

Why did I wait almost 2 weeks after Christmas to post?!? I have no idea because I was/am very excited to share pictures!

I had a lot of Christmas orders & owe a huge THANK YOU to everyone who placed them with me. The 6 weeks prior to Christmas were very busy, but also lots of fun.

Here are a few pics from those some orders.

Jessica's canvas was to be themed with the sorority she joined this past fall. I used the Sigma Kappa colors & had maroon & pearl stripes on the sides. I added the greek letters in maroon in the center of the pearl border & then added a pearl "glaze" over the letters. Her name was done in black so it would really stand out. Jessica, I hope you are happy with your canvas!

The same sweet girl who ordered the Jessica canvas above also wanted me to add a name to this magnet board she was giving to a teacher friend. I made the board pretty simple but jazzed up the magnets.

I had a lot of frame orders & here are a few of them.

The only reason being that I didn't get anything done as early as I normally do so I figured I'll just do a little this time (& this time only) & bring the big guns back out next year!

Our Tree

This is one of my favorite things. It's on our breakfast table & I love to sit there & stare at it....don't know why, I just do!

And, in case you were wondering....no, there is no bottom to that bell shaped glass thing. I add the ornaments to it while holding it upside down & then (oh so gracefully) flipped it over to where it would sit on the table. It becomes a conversation piece when we have company over.

Well, that's all I have for now. I hope I didn't bore you, but with all those cute baby pics, who could be bored?!?!?

I promise as soon as Christmas is over, I will post some pictures of the canvases & frames & such that I have been working on. Maybe I'll put some teaser pics on here in a few days....We'll see!

Yay!! He's here!!!

So, I'm thinking that I may be a little crazy about this new baby that has just joined our family, but he is sooooo cute!!! It was very hard, but I had to wait until Sarah updated her blog before I could update mine. Here is the sweetest picture of David Scott from Wednesday night. He is about 7 hours old in this picture & I'm very proud to say that I took this as my picture taking skills are often lacking!

I bet he's thanking God that he has such a great Aunt Boo! Or at least that's what I'll keep thinking:)

Anyway, Sarah had an excellent labor & delivery & I'm pretty sure a lot of her friends are not too happy with her right now because of it!! I know when the time comes for me to have a baby, I can only hope that it goes as smoothly for me.

I was able to give Sarah a couple of her canvases the morning of David Scott's birthday & both she & Scotty were very excited to see them. This one is now above his crib:

Did I mention that I'm not the greatest picture taker?!? I guess I will have to sharpen those skills by taking tons of photos of the baby! Haha, good excuse, huh??

Well, I lied....I said that I would probably have some of your custom orders done my mid week, but I am not done with them because

MY SISTER IS HAVING HER BABY TOMORROW MORNING!!!!!!

I am just so excited I can't contain myself! I will be at the hospital tomorrow & will be headed home around lunch on Thursday so I won't be able to work on the custom orders until Thursday night. I will e-mail you when yours is done, but since I'm not at home to paint, I am all focused on the little bundle of joy that will make his debut tomorrow.

I have his canvases done & with me to give to Sarah in the morning (or at some point in the day!) so as soon as she sees them, I will post them for the world to see. I'm so excited about her seeing them!

Anyway, I will probably post a few times tomorrow, so check back!!

Please say a special prayer that all things go smoothly tomorrow for Mommy, Daddy & Baby David Scott.

A gift for Baby Brianna & a sneak peek!

I finished this today for Patricia. She had this done for her sister who is due in a month or so. (Don't worry, she knows about the gift!) I thought the letters turned out so cute & they will look wonderful in Brianna's nursery!

For those of you who know my sis, you know that she will be having her first child, David Scott, ANY DAY! In fact, we thought that she would have had him by now, but we are still waiting. Even though I know she is miserable, it works out better for me that he isn't here yet, because we have made some adjustments to his artwork so, hopefully (fingers crossed) I will be able to finish it all before his grand arrival! You can check out Sarah's blog here, but for now, I will leave you with a sneak peek of one of his canvases.

As for me, I will be working all weekend finishing my precious nephew's stuff & other orders. So, if you are waiting on one, check your e-mail towards the middle of the week to see if you have a message from The Peek-A-Bootique!

Well, CedarTown Market was a success!! I had a lot of wonderful people stop by the booth & had a great time.

(I took the pics before I added Merry Christmas to it! Oops!) Anyway, this is just one of the Christmas canvases that I'm painting this year. I recently completed 2 orders for a friend/co-worker. She & her husband had just transformed their 3rd child's room into his "big boy" room. They went with a camping theme from Target & I was asked to paint something to coordinate. Here is a pic of the bedding...

I have been working on a lot of Fall & Christmas stuff lately! I really enjoy this time of year so I have fun creating frames & canvases that coordinate with the season. Here are 2 of the many frames that I've done lately.

I love the red on the inside of this baseball frame. The following frames can stand vertically or horizontally.
This one has purple on the inside & pink on the outside of the frame. The yellow on the front has white polka-dots. Very cute!
This frame is pink with orange on the inside. It also has a surprise when you look close...glitter!

A Great Weekend!

Even though it's Thursday night, I'm just now posting about our weekend...sorry!

The Bulldogs had a big win in their first home game of the season. Go Tech!! We took Levi, Dusty's nephew & he had a blast. It was his first football game ever & I'm pretty sure he's hooked for life! A good friend of ours played for Tech when we were in college & he offered to take Levi to meet the players after the game. Levi was so excited when he met them that he couldn't speak! I was hoping to take a pic with Coach Dooley, but maybe next time! Here are a few pics of Levi with the boys.

You can barely see it, but the quarterback gave Levi his wristband. He was in awe of it, but Levi let us know many times that it was really sweaty!

This guy is super nice & has HUGE biceps!
