Early Christmas gifts!!

A few customers have already given their friends/co-workers their Christmas gifts so I'm able to share some pics with you!

These were done for 4 teachers as a gift from a co-worker.  Can't miss out on the fun so she had a canvas made for herself, too!

The gifts for her co-workers:

I like these canvases because they can use them at school or at home.  Megan, I hope you & your fellow teachers enjoy!

This next one was painted to match the Painterly Paisley duvet from Pottery Barn.  Abby had this done for her big sis.  She has brown accents to go along with the duvet.

That's all for now...  More pics to come very soon as Christmas is only a week away!

Have a wonderful weekend!

YOU can win a new computer!!

This is probably the most awesome giveaway I've ever seen.  You can go to Kelly's Korner Reviews & register to win a new HP TouchSmart 600 PC!  From what I've read, it seems to be a really cool computer & I hope I win!!

It's time...

So, I am loooong overdue for a new post...sorry!  I have been so busy painting Christmas orders that I haven't had much time for anything else.  And since they are orders for Christmas gifts, I'm not going to post any pics of those items until after Christmas....Don't want to ruin anything!

For your viewing pleasure, here's what's been happening the last few weeks (besides painting!).  Of course, I have to have a few pics of the baby on here...I wouldn't be a good aunt if I didn't!

Thanksgiving Day 2009
 I think I hear a familiar voice...

Yes!  It's my mom!!

Just hanging out with my big sis, Lola.

Family pic on my first Thanksgiving

Me & my Boo, formerly known as Aunt Boo...I decided to shorten it :)

Being cute

Which is very tiring, if you didn't know!

Since Christmas is my FAVE time of the year, here is a pic of our tree & some other decor.  I have a little more than what's here, but I need to charge the camera battery before I can add them.  Note: I didn't put out nearly as much this year as I did last year.  The only reason being that I didn't get anything done as early as I normally do so I figured I'll just do a little this time (& this time only) & bring the big guns back out next year!

Our Tree

This is one of my favorite things. It's on our breakfast table & I love to sit there & stare at it....don't know why, I just do!

And, in case you were wondering....no, there is no bottom to that bell shaped glass thing.  I add the ornaments to it while holding it upside down & then (oh so gracefully) flipped it over to where it would sit on the table.  It becomes a conversation piece when we have company over.

Well, that's all I have for now.  I hope I didn't bore you, but with all those cute baby pics, who could be bored?!?!?

I promise as soon as Christmas is over, I will post some pictures of the canvases & frames & such that I have been working on.  Maybe I'll put some teaser pics on here in a few days....We'll see!

Hope you are having a great week!

FINALLY!!!!!

Yay!! He's here!!!

So, I'm thinking that I may be a little crazy about this new baby that has just joined our family, but he is sooooo cute!!! It was very hard, but I had to wait until Sarah updated her blog before I could update mine. Here is the sweetest picture of David Scott from Wednesday night. He is about 7 hours old in this picture & I'm very proud to say that I took this as my picture taking skills are often lacking!

I bet he's thanking God that he has such a great Aunt Boo! Or at least that's what I'll keep thinking:)

Anyway, Sarah had an excellent labor & delivery & I'm pretty sure a lot of her friends are not too happy with her right now because of it!! I know when the time comes for me to have a baby, I can only hope that it goes as smoothly for me.

I was able to give Sarah a couple of her canvases the morning of David Scott's birthday & both she & Scotty were very excited to see them. This one is now above his crib:

This one was originally going over his dresser, but I think they have decided to put it somewhere else:

Did I mention that I'm not the greatest picture taker?!? I guess I will have to sharpen those skills by taking tons of photos of the baby! Haha, good excuse, huh??

I can't wait!!!

Well, I lied....I said that I would probably have some of your custom orders done my mid week, but I am not done with them because

MY SISTER IS HAVING HER BABY TOMORROW MORNING!!!!!!

I am just so excited I can't contain myself! I will be at the hospital tomorrow & will be headed home around lunch on Thursday so I won't be able to work on the custom orders until Thursday night. I will e-mail you when yours is done, but since I'm not at home to paint, I am all focused on the little bundle of joy that will make his debut tomorrow.

I have his canvases done & with me to give to Sarah in the morning (or at some point in the day!) so as soon as she sees them, I will post them for the world to see. I'm so excited about her seeing them!

Anyway, I will probably post a few times tomorrow, so check back!!

Please say a special prayer that all things go smoothly tomorrow for Mommy, Daddy & Baby David Scott.

Have a great night!

A gift for Baby Brianna & a sneak peek!

I finished this today for Patricia. She had this done for her sister who is due in a month or so. (Don't worry, she knows about the gift!) I thought the letters turned out so cute & they will look wonderful in Brianna's nursery!

For those of you who know my sis, you know that she will be having her first child, David Scott, ANY DAY! In fact, we thought that she would have had him by now, but we are still waiting. Even though I know she is miserable, it works out better for me that he isn't here yet, because we have made some adjustments to his artwork so, hopefully (fingers crossed) I will be able to finish it all before his grand arrival! You can check out Sarah's blog here, but for now, I will leave you with a sneak peek of one of his canvases.

As for me, I will be working all weekend finishing my precious nephew's stuff & other orders. So, if you are waiting on one, check your e-mail towards the middle of the week to see if you have a message from The Peek-A-Bootique!

Have a great weekend & GEAUX BULLDOGS!! Beat the Tigers!!

And the winner is......

I just drew the winner of the Christmas Canvas Giveaway!!!!

I'm sure you're dying to find out who won... I will tell you, but first, I'll show you a little something. This is a Christmas canvas that I recently painted. (I took the pics before I added Merry Christmas to it! Oops!) Anyway, this is just one of the Christmas canvases that I'm painting this year. I can do anything, but I'm doing a lot of this one & one with ornaments. Either can be customized to whatever colors you like to use during the holiday season & also can be personalized. If you would rather have a snowman, I can paint a snowman...It's up to you!

(11x14 - $37)

And for your information, I have a booth at CedarTown Market (a holiday market at the Ruston Civic Center, November 6 & 7) where I will be selling Christmas Canvases, fall canvases, ornaments and also taking custom orders. Some of what I'll have at CedarTown will already have "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" on it, but some will be blank so that I can paint a name on it. It will be the same with the ornaments. I'll have some already painted & some ready to have your initial added. They are super cute & will make great co-worker or teacher gifts! I'll post more pics of my CedarTown stuff tomorrow.

Back to the giveaway! Just to show you a little more of the Christmas canvas, here is a close-up of the presents. I added a fun texture to both of them. I think it looks great & really makes the polka-dots stand out more!

So, you are probably ready to find out who won, right?!? Well, congratulations to....

LINDSEY CLARK!!

You have won the Christmas Canvas Giveaway!!!
I've already e-mailed you to get the information on what you want your Christmas canvas to look like, but to those of you who didn't win, don't hesitate to put in an order for your custom Christmas canvas [or ornament or any custom canvas :)]. I can usually get these finished & on it's way to you within 4 days of placing an order.

This giveaway was lots of fun so keep checking in often...you never know when I'll do another one!

So exciting!

I recently completed 2 orders for a friend/co-worker. She & her husband had just transformed their 3rd child's room into his "big boy" room. They went with a camping theme from Target & I was asked to paint something to coordinate. Here is a pic of the bedding...

And here is what I painted:
3 11x14 canvases
It looks so cute in his room!!

Shortly after this was delivered, her oldest decided that he needed something painted for his room too since the other two had something in theirs. So, here is his bedding:
And here is what I painted to be hung over his "play area":
16x20
I hope the Browns enjoy their new paintings!

These next few were done a while back & are just now making their debut on the blog!

My friend Brittany, had sweet baby Emory at the beginning of June & as my gift to her, I painted this:
16x20
This next one was painted for Deacon. His mom is due in about a week or two & a mutual friend gave this to her for his train themed room.
This is a teaser pic:
This is the full 16x20 canvas
Katye is so ready for Deacon to get here & I will be sending lots of prayers her way over the next 2 weeks!

Just in case you were curious, bow holders are $15! Isn't this one so cute?!?
I love the fun colors & polka-dots!

Before I go, I would like to leave you with this:
Go Bulldogs!!!
Louisiana Tech defeated New Mexico state today in their Homecoming game with a score of 45-7. Great job guys! Also, the students on Homecoming court looked wonderful (that includes my brother!). Congrats to everyone!
